Product review: milani conceal + perfect 2 in 1 foundation + concealer

Hello loves, today I will be reviewing the milani conceal + perfect 2 in 1 foundation + concealer and I’ll be sharing my thoughts and observations with you.

I have this foundation in two shades ( 14:golden toffee and 09:tan ) and this is because i would normally mix them to get the perfect shade. The reason I got them in different colours is because they are meant mainly for clients and models so instead of getting all the shades, I got a darker and a lighter shade so that when I mix them together I would get the exact shade of the client or model on which I’ll be using it on.

  1. Medium to full coverage
  2. Light weight
  3. Oil free formula
  4. Long wearing
  5. Water resistant and sweat proof

  • The milani conceal + perfect 2 in 1 foundation + concealer comes in a 30ml bottle
  • The bottle comes in a glass form which means it can break if it falls hard on the ground.
  • It has a pump which I like because it makes it a lot easier, you dont have to open the bottle to get the foundation out.

I am going to lay my observations in relation to the specifications given on the product:

  1. This foundation gives medium to full coverage and a flawless look.
  2. It is light weight
  3. It is not oil free even though they indicated it to be oil free, I discovered that after applying it on my face, I still get that shinny look and when i go out into the sun it gets worse. It’s not oil free!, keep that in mind yo!
  4. Long wearing : you can only wear it for long If you will not be going under the sun or staying in a hot environment.
  5. Water resistant and sweat proof: nah, i don’t think so, I do sweat on application of this foundation even after applying my face primer. I have a combination skin type, I naturally get shinny around my nose area, my moustache and on my chin.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I’ll give the milani conceal + perfect 2 in 1 foundation 7/10

The price ranges from 3500 naira to 4500 naira here in Nigeria depending on who and where you buy from.

It is a drugstore cosmetic so you can get it from any beauty supply store near you or you can shop it online from jumia or konga.

Stay fab lovelies

Road travel-my experience

I had finished packing my bags and was set for the journey , I woke my parents and my siblings up, my dad said a short prayer for me and the goodbyes were said, I hopped into my elder brothers car and we zoomed off to the pack at Ajah, Lekki Lagos, Nigeria . My brother dropped me and was on his way, I walked to the counter to purchase my travel ticket but to my surprise the fair was higher than my budget. Transport from Lagos to Owerri at this time was N8500 which I could not afford at the time so I opted for a cheaper transport company with a fair price of N5600.

And that was how I waited endlessly at the pack for close to 3hrs and finally! It was time to move. Can you imagine? This company carried passengers going to Onitcha, Owerri, Umuahia, Enugu, Portharcourt and Crossriver, it was a hectic journey + our driver was a talkative, he was always ready to insult who ever tried to caution him and his adamant nature cost us so much delay on the road + I don’t know what manner of men we have this days, they were all talkative in the bus.

The bus had no air condition, there was so much dust on the road, I literarily fell sick and tired, I should have post-ponded this journey till the weekend when I could travel with my siblings on a free ride but how could i? Since I was trying to catch up with my NYSC clearance for the month of January 2018. I slept through most of the journey and while I was awake so many crazy stuffs happened from our drivers craziness to the talkative men in the bus, in all their craziness and talkative behaviours they made the journey a bit interesting.

I finally got to my destination by 9pm, in case I did not tell you, I woke up as early as 4.50am and I was at the pack before 6am, so you can Imagine the delays of this journey, and that’s how life is sometimes, we face so much difficulties along the way with dalays that lasts longer than necessary but as long as we have a goal and a destination we will surely get there and please lets be open to good counsel so that we don’t incur delays to ourselves just like my bus driver.

This is my road trip/travel story with a bit of moral lesson.

Feel free to comment and tell me about your road travel.

How to achieve your 2018 goals-tips

The long awaited year 2018 is finally here and many of us have made new year resolutions, everyone of us wants the best out of this year in all spheres of our lives but the truth is that life happens and all our new year’s resolutions just goes out the window.

It is very important to set achievable goals for the year with plans to see it through. I’ll give a few points here on how to achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself, your relationships and your business:

Write it down: before going ahead with that plan of yours, I think it is best to write it down on a sheet of paper or better still get a journal.

And the Lord answered me:
“Write the vision;
make it plain on tablets,
so he may run who reads it.

For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
it hastens to the end—it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;
it will surely come; it will not delay. Habakuk 2 v2-3 (ESV)

Run with it: now that you have written your goals/vision down, don’t allow yourself to get carried away by external forces, set your heart on your goal and focus on it, “for where the heart of man is, there lies his treasure” your treasure is in your vision and you can’t claim your treasure until your vision is realised

Be consistent and determined: there is a general quote that asserts that persistence and determination is a vital key to success and this has proven to be true. Wether you work in an office or you are a businessman you need to be consistent in your work in other for you to attain that position you desire.

Be deliberate on your relationships: do away with toxic relationships and try as much as you can to build healthy and profitable relationships that will help you grow personally and otherwise.

Study: there is no way you can grow in knowledge without studying. Whatever your area of specialty is or whatever you are planning on diving into, you need to study and do your research, it good for you to know the pros and the cons of your so-called profession so that you can be at the top of your game at all times.

I hope his was helpful to someone, don’t forget to like and drop a comment below, feel free to share your thoughts.

My Christmas experience

Yaaaaaaasss!! The season is here again, eehm this is kinda a late post but non the less let’s get into my Xmas experience which was amazing to me😃 but might come out as boring 😴 to you.

I had to wake up pretty early because I had to attend the Christmas service at my church so I did not have the time to dress up the way I wanted to, when I say dress up I mean putting on heels.

So I had this pretty cream crop off-shoulder top and a high waisted skirt made by @stylesurge who happens to be my younger sister, please go check her out on instagram, truth be told the outfit belongs to her but I think it fits me better and as you can see in the picture below I was wearing a flat sleepers and a little everyday shoulder bag

I had so much fun with family and friends, so much to talk about, so much to eat and drink

Flash back Friday… #latepost #weddingweekend

My natural hair challenge and success-type 4C

Hi lovely people, I hope you all had a fun filled weekend, unlike mine that wasn’t so eventful but i was able to dress up and go to church on sunday rocking my two strand twist on my natural hair, which brings me to the topic at hand.

Going back to when i transitioned to being natural, I faced some challenges like not knowing the right products to use or even how to take care of my natural hair causing me to suffer head aches and excess loss of hair as a result of my hair being mistreated by me.

So I started looking for solutions and alternatives on google/YouTube, I tell you, YouTube is one of the best things that has happened to me this year. Did you know that i never imagined using water as a moisturizer on my hair before applying other products until I watched it on YouTube then I remembered that when I was little and I had my hair on low cut, I could actually comb through my hair after taking a shower and that was because the water acted as a base moisturiser before any other hair product

What I use on my hair

  • Emily millionaire hair conditioner
  • Coconut oil
  • Shea butter
  • Soft and beautiful botanicals moisturiser
  • Olive oil
  • African black soap as shampoo

As you can see I don’t use much products on my hair and they are all very affordable

How I use them

Before applying any products to my hair, the first thing I do is to:

  • Spray my hair with water using a spray bottle, this gives me a moisturised base
  • I apply the products listed above, most times I mix them together and apply, this helps to seal in the moisture
  • I then use a wide tooth comb to detangle my hair before using a medium sized tooth comb for easy detangling of my hair strands to avoid excess hair loss
  • After which I style my hair

My go to hair Care lotion

Hello lovelies, it’s another day and its the first day of the month of December, so this is me wishing you all a happy New month😊 with lots of love💖💚💛 in different colours lol…

Today am going to show you what I use to moisturize my natural hair.

The soft and beautiful Botanicals with Shea butter, olive, argan, coconut oil and vitamin E for all hair types

This is a moisturizing lotion with natural ingredients that is extremely nourishing and helps the hair remain soft and shiny. I got this lotion here in owerri, Nigeria at everyday supermarket and I’ve also seen it in some cosmetic stores around here.

I applied the lotion generously on a freshly washed hair together with my organic coconut oil and then I massage gently all over my hair.

If you have natural and coarse hair like me, make sure to use a wide tooth comb first to detangle so that you dont end up loosing too much hair, after combing through properly, you can style your hair the way you like.

I styled my hair in a bun and I love it😄
